I love it when I meet a new author. I love their ideas, their excitement, and I’m just as hopefully as they are that their book will not only be published but well received. That in itself is why I became a book reviewer in the first place.
It was quite random how I came to meet Monique Dixon. We were both at the Tottenham Literature Festival and later got talking to one another about writing and her book Once Bad Intentions, which is about a young teenager trying to make a break from her troubled past to find her place in the world.
It was a great chat and I was really pleased to be able to interview Monique for The British Blacklist, as well as review her book.
