Merry Christmas and every blessing for the coming year 😘😘
Wow, what a novel! Powerfully written, Grown by Tiffany D. Jackson is about a super talented aspiring singer, Enchanted, who at the age of 17 meets her hero and crush, singer Korey Fields. He takes an interest in her to develop her career and it's not long before things take a very dark turn....
Good morning 😎
Managed to get away from the UK for a much needed break to Madeira. Went in search of winter sun but despite the stormy weather it is still very warm and Madeira is a beautiful island. Merry Christmas peeps xx
Being Amani by @beingasteele. A very engaging and enjoyable YA novel.
Ten Steps To Us by @attiyakhanwriter is a truly delightful YA novel about a hijabi-wearing Muslim teenager, Aisha Rashid.
The fragility of strength and the strength of fragility in #Luster by @raven_leilani. Really enjoyed reading this painfully funny, dark novel about a young black woman caught up in the most unconventional of familial setups through her affair with a married white man. Review link in the bio!
Been cackling like a mad woman reading Stay Woke Kids! By @kazvaremadeit . A wry, hilarious and illustrative take on our modern times and laced with memes, Jay-Z and Beyonce references, @kazvaremadeit covers topics from race to toxic masculinity in some sharp, sassy limericks. Certainly has made my Sunday afternoon and I will be reading it all over again!
And that's my weekend sorted! Luster by @raven_leilani and Three Rooms by Jo Hamya
