So today was the last week of my creative writing course (sob!) and it's been really awesome...
With a body of work spanning well over three decades, it was an joy and a privilege to hear Linton Kwesi Johnson read a selection of his poems and discuss his career at an evening hosted by independent bookshop New Beacon Books.
As part of the London Literature Festival and possibly Black History Month, it was ladies, or rather womxn night at the Southbank Centre.
One of several events to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Windrush is Windrush Women: Past and Present on 25 June at the British Library and hosted by Wasafiri, A evening celebrating women writers from the Windrush era and their legacy.
